Let it shine. Lighting is key to make a room inviting, and also functional.  I recommend a minimum of three light sources, per room, and ideally 5 or more, composed of a mix of accent, task, and ambient. 

Flair. The right art will add interest, color cohesiveness and a focal point to your living area. Gallery walls are one option, but it is often better to go big and utilize one or two striking pieces to accentuate the decor and serve as the basis for selecting accent colors. Look to local artists for pieces that connect to a sense of place. Unique art can also be sourced through local auctions or vintage stores for that one of a kind find. 

Embellish. This is where the real fun begins. Create little moments in your space by using coordinating accents, or add plants if you have a green thumb. Personal mementos from travels, etc. are especially meaningful to display in your home. Concentrate on a few larger key pieces, rather than a bunch of little items that can be dust collectors.
